Native Foods

While it may appear to the average traveler that the Albion moors never seem to end, in truth, they only cover roughly 38% of the surrounding low lands and rocky highlands. Albion farms produce few cereal grains and focus primarily focus on sturdy items such as roots vegetables, cabbages, and berries. The surrounding Albion region has more than sixty wild but edible plants, including bittercress, ground elder, dandelions, fat hen, good king henry, chickweed, sweet woodruff, and sorrel. Sheep, goats, and sturdy highland cattle comprise most of their meat and dairy needs.

Personality Traits

• Frem know the value of a gold coin. This doesn't mean that Frem are tight-fisted or mean, just that they are careful about spending and expect value for money.
• Frem are polite but reserved until they get to know you.
• Forthright and honest. They say what they mean, but not with malice.
• Patriotic - Frem people might complain about the weather, or politics, or whatever but they're fiercely proud of Albion and will defend it with their last breath.
• Fiery and bold. Frem are brave, stubborn, and courageous.
• Social and friendly, they can be especially chatty once they got to know you.
• Practical and down-to-earth. One side of the personality is very grounded and matter-of-fact. They don't like pretenses or 'fake-ness'.
• Superstitious, sentimental and spiritual. Many Frem people have a strong belief in the supernatural, and in the strength of mythical and psychic worlds. Unexpectedly emotional for such a practical people.
• Appreciate the arts. Frem especially love music, dancing, story-telling, and literature.
• Hard-working.
• Frem know how to have a good time. Celebrations, dancing, drinking, singing.... they are expert at these.
• Frem enjoy their food! Their diet is traditionally rich in red meat, fats, and sugar.
• They also like 'a wee dram'. Of whiskey that is. Frem Fire Whisky is world-famous, and for good reason.

The Word of Athlendyr

He who walks on great padded paws through the brightest and darkest corners of our land, speaks to his children in a warm deep voice like hot honey. He teaches us the way of the land and the tenants of his faith. For we live in his kingdom to protect all that is beautiful with the strength of our faith and the wisdom of his teachings.

Acceptance is the true belief of the melding of Strength and Wisdom. While the Northmen have simplified this into the "where there is smoke there is fire", our people recognize the very fact that all things have action and consequence. Through acceptance of the very nature of the world and the path its entities take, we can accept the fate of all things, both good and bad.

Harmony is the blending of Strength and Beauty, the flow of one thing into another. Harmony drives our day and encourages us to move with strength and grace, to meld with each other in a way elegant and powerful.

Integration takes the foundations of Kingdom and Wisdom and teaches that by giving to the world the world will give back. By directed strength into the sphere, strength and harmony will be directed back into all of us.

Continuity takes the understanding of Beauty and Kingdom and recognizes that life is not a single thread of existence but a fluid and merging ebb that continually rolls over itself. To understand what will be, one must understand what has been.
