Native Foods

While it may appear to the average traveler that the Albion moors never seem to end, in truth, they only cover roughly 38% of the surrounding low lands and rocky highlands. Albion farms produce few cereal grains and focus primarily focus on sturdy items such as roots vegetables, cabbages, and berries. The surrounding Albion region has more than sixty wild but edible plants, including bittercress, ground elder, dandelions, fat hen, good king henry, chickweed, sweet woodruff, and sorrel. Sheep, goats, and sturdy highland cattle comprise most of their meat and dairy needs.

Personality Traits

• Frem know the value of a gold coin. This doesn't mean that Frem are tight-fisted or mean, just that they are careful about spending and expect value for money.
• Frem are polite but reserved until they get to know you.
• Forthright and honest. They say what they mean, but not with malice.
• Patriotic - Frem people might complain about the weather, or politics, or whatever but they're fiercely proud of Valgard and will defend it with their last breath.
• Fiery and bold. Frem are brave, stubborn, and courageous.
• Social and friendly, they can be especially chatty once they got to know you.
• Practical and down-to-earth. One side of the personality is very grounded and matter-of-fact. They don't like pretenses or 'fake-ness'.
• Superstitious, sentimental and spiritual. Many Frem people have a strong belief in the supernatural, and in the strength of mythical and psychic worlds. Unexpectedly emotional for such a practical people.
• Appreciate the arts. Frem especially love music, dancing, story-telling, and literature.
• Hard-working. The Frem are the backbone of Valgard, and it is their sure hands that grow most of the grain and produce in Valgard.
• Frem know how to have a good time. Celebrations, dancing, drinking, singing.... they are expert at these.
• Frem enjoy their food! Their diet is traditionally rich in red meat, fats, and sugar.
• They also like 'a wee dram'. Of whiskey that is. Frem Fire Whisky is world-famous, and for good reason.
